The De Anza College Orchestra

Welcome to the home page of the De Anza College orchestra. We're a community orchestra as well as a class taught at De Anza in Cupertino (how to sign up).

Fall 2005 Concerts

We'll be performing the rest of our pieces from last quarter on Sunday, January 15th, 2006 at 7pm in A-11 (building "A1" on the campus map).

Orchestra members should show up at 5:45pm in A-11 for a warmup rehearsal. Ladies should wear "long black" (black top and bottom) and men should wear tuxedos (or something approximate).

Put up posters.
Bring your friends (an invite)!

About half the orchestra was able to make our late-announced Messiah sing-along accompaniment gig Saturday, December 3rd.

Our first regularly scheduled rehearsal on 12 January will be the dress rehearsal (we'll also be welcoming new members though they won't be expected to play the concert :). An additional rehearsal was held on the prior Wednesday night, January 4th, from 7-10.

We're going to be performing (in the given order :):

We are currently looking for new players in all symphonic sections (the greatest need is for violins). If you are interested in joining us, please contact the communications manager, Soren Spies, at sspies+daco@bigw.org or show up to a Thursday night rehearsal. Prior orchestral experience is helpful but not required.

We practice from 7pm-10pm on Thursday nights in De Anza's room A-31 (inside the shaded building "A3" on this campus map -- note the big parking structure). De Anza itself is at Stevens Creek and Highway 85 (directions).
